About the Competition:

The competition is taking place with the support from:
Ministries of Culture of Russia
The Department of the Culture of the Governemnt of Moscow City
The Union of theatrical workers of Russia.

Place and periods of conducting – Moscow city, from October 27th 2010 – November 1st 2010

To be a participant of the competition can be anyone: women and men, born between January 1st 1975 and December 31st 1992.

The performances will be assessed according to ten points system. The points are appointed for each performance and are recorded in the official report of the competition and the end of each hearing.

Only about 50% of applicants from the first stage get to the second stage of the competition. And only about 50% of those applicants from the second stage get to the last third stage, yet not more than 10 participants. The judges are only responsible for the points and only in debatable questions can the judges use the extra point option. On the last stage of the competition in addition to the usual judges the press-judges come along to help with the judging.

All the compositions are performed by heart in Russian or in the original song language. In the last two stages of the competition the participants may use dialogs or a short scene, but in that case the performance should not last longer than twelve minutes. The performances of the first two stages are accompanied by the piano whereas the symphonic orchestra accompanies the performances of the last stage. The usage of phonogram “minus one” is forbidden.

The compositions performed by the participants in the first stage cannot be used again in the second stage of the composition. The participants of the third stage may use the same compositions as in previous stages.

Concert dress code:
Men: tail coats, dinner –jackets/smocking or black suits
Women: a concert dress or a suit in accordance with the composition performed
This dress code has to be followed at any stage of the competition and during the “Gala” Concert of the laureates.

The order of the performances is being chosen by the allotment and is kept throughout the following stages of the competition.

The Diploma/Certificate “OperettaLand” for the best duet of the competition and monetary award of 20 000 rubles.

The Special Prize entitled after Eduard Gerder will be awarded to the best participant of a cascade performance.

The Special Prize awarded for the best performer of an aria or a duet of national composer

The Prize awarded by the audience

The Special Prize awarded by the Union of Theatrical Workers of Russian Federation – a professional tour to one of the European Theatres

In accordance with the Directory Board of the competition, the State, the public organizations, creative unions, firms and press are given the right to give their special awards to the participants.

The income tax is retained from all monetary awards.

The starting date for appications for the participation in the competition is February 1st 2010. The deadline for the applications is on 25th September 2010 ( on the stamp on the post envelope).

The performances program may be changed until September 20th 2010. In case the performances on the day differ from those mentioned in the participant’s application, and those indicated in the competition one point will be automatically deducted from the total points. (Which means that this candidate will be assessed with nine points only.)

It is the responsibility of the participant to check that all information indicated in the application form is correct.

The Directory of the competition has the right to use all the information and photos about the participants for the press releases, radio translation and television.

Each candidate gets an official confirmation from the directory/board of the competition about his participation before 20th September 2010.

The directory of the competition can free of charge a participant qualified concertmaster on the basis of primarily applications before 20th September 2010.

The Directory is offering the participants to take part in master-classes, which are going to take place in between second and third stages.

Entry fee is equivalent to 3000 rubles; this payment should be made while registering the participants directly before the allotment. Those participants who didn’t pay the entry are not allowed to take part in the competition.

All the expenditure on arrival, departure and the hotel stay are the responsibility of the participant.

In case if the participant decides to perform with his own concertmaster, the participant takes all the expenditure questions about their arrival, departure and hotel stay as his responsibility.

In case if the participant decides to bring a partner for the duets, for example, the expenditure on their arrival, departure and hotel stay the participant takes it all as his responsibility.

Note Material

Notes for the performances in the first and second stages (accompanied with piano) each participant brings with him himself.

Notes for the performances in the third stage (accompanied with orchestra) will be provided to the participants by the Directory of the Competition.

If the Directory doesn’t have the notes required for the performance the participant is informed about this before 20th of September 2010. In that case the participant should:
